This question is in the minds of many anxiety disorder sufferers. It is not an easy task to find an anxiety attacks treatment.

There are so many diseases that have a long recovery span but at least the cure is known and straight forward. This is not the case when it comes to anxiety disorder.

What works or worked for one person does not necessarily mean that it will work for the next person. There are certain criteria that we need to make sure of before we are able to choose the best anxiety treatment that suits us.

This criteria is not what we want to discuss here, we are going to discuss something more basic but unfortunately is missed by many. First we need to answer a simple question: how did we arrive to the conclusion that we suffer from an anxiety disorder?

If the answer is not through a doctor’s diagnosis, then your conclusion is wrong. Even if your guess was right, your method is wrong. The only way you should act on an anxiety disorder is if you have been diagnosed by a professional in the area that you suffer from this disorder. You should also know what kind of anxiety disorder you suffer from.

You will also need to understand what are the underlying causes for your specific case.

Now you are equipped to find a suitable anxiety attacks treatment that suits your case.

When you conduct your research for such an anxiety attacks solution, you would need to make sure that the program you are interested in is credible and based on scientific research and that it suits your lifestyle and is something that you are able to fulfill its requirements.

It does not matter how effective or a success rate a program has if you will not be able to follow its requirements. It will simply not work because simply you did not follow it.

We have conducted some research on such treatments and we have found two programs that have received good reviews from both users and experts.

We are going to mention only one of them here which is called The Linden Method. If you want to read more about the topic and have access to more channels that provide anxiety solutions you can check out our post titled "Choosing An Anxiety Attacks Treatment."

Anti-depressants are known to remedy anxiety panic attacks which comprises one of the more common problems that folks nowadays are dealing with on a daily basis. There are different types of anxiety disorders and they also are experienced at different degrees of intensity, and so due to this it becomes altogether difficult to find the correct anxiety treatments.

Although some folk might feel something that looks like near death, others can just go through a loss of breath and a lot of tenseness. Because of the difference in anxiety disorders, anxiety treatments would do nothing for many people if the treatments were all the same. If you suffer from anxiety, the first step you will want to take is to talk to your doctor about your symptoms and then discuss what kind of anxiety treatments may successfully work for you.

Not all methods of treatment will stop anxiety attacks, or at all so do not be discouraged. There are also some things you can do on top of using traditional anxiety treatments that can greatly increase the success of controlling your anxiety.

The ancient adage about breathing into a paper bag actually does work, therefore do not rule it out. As you sense an anxiety attack coming on with loss of breath, take hold of that paper bag and just breathe. You may be astonished at how you will be able to contain your breathing before traditional anxiety treatments even have a chance to take affect. You can also learn certain breathing exercises to help maintain your composure when experiencing anxiety. These are by far the most natural and sometimes most effective forms of anxiety treatments available.

Whatever you choose to do, living with anxiety without having a solution to the disorder will make your life hard to deal with. With that stated, be sure to research every alternative as it pertains to anxiety treatments, and irrespective of how cockamamie some of them might appear to you, you owe it to yourself to give it a whirl.

Whenever it works, you will be able to rest assured that your days and nights will be much easier to cope with both for the incessant vexation of when your next anxiety attack will turn up, and when the anxiety attack happens. Anxiety treatments are not perfect, and they are something that researchers are still trying to find the best way to help.

And so in the meantime, use what is out there and try them all, old wife’s tales and all. Worst case scenario it doesn’t work and you have to keep searching for another method. If it does provide relief, you will be so happy you tried it!

Treating anxiety panic disorder requires experience as well as skill and so, only a professional that has obtained the requisite training should be trusted with the task. There are also a few situations when people suffering from anxiety panic disorder need to be treated by a team of health care professionals with one person prescribing the medication while others provide Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.

Don’t become pessimistic after you find out that such a condition has affected your health; rather prepare for the worst and have courage to face whatever comes your way.

It also pays to find out the kind of special training that such professionals may have received that assures you of their competence in providing best anxiety panic disorder treatment. Next, you have to get an answer to the kind of treatment that the professional is going to provide you with. There are several things that you will need to study in this regard including cognitive behavioral therapy, and medication as well as combination of the two.

Other important factors that require your attention include the duration of the panic attack treatment, its frequency, costs as well as whether costs can be recovered through health insurance.

On a winter morning in 1981, I squeezed some oranges from my yard into a 16 ounce glass and made that my breakfast. 3 hours later, in my office, I suddenly had my first anxiety attack.I thought it might be a heart attack, but no chest pain or arm pain, and I almost passed out. My office manager was very worried. It passed after several minutes. When I was able to think clearly again, I realized that it was a hypoglycemic “dip” or “episode”. That fresh orange juice was very sweet.

Hypoglycemia is a medical term for “low blood sugar”. The brain requires large amounts of glucose, and when it goes below a certain point, a hypoglycemic episode occurs. This can become almost any symptom up to and including coma and even death. In most cases, such a hypoglycemic episode only causes drowsiness or sleepiness, but fainting and passing out is not unknown. Also, as a result of a hypoglycemia episode, both adrenalin and testosterone may be released (in men primarily) causing undifferentitated rage in some men/boys. This may also be part of the current “road rage” problem as well as childhood tantrums. bar fightrs, spouse abuse. etc.

The hypoglycemia episode can cause panic attacks, severe anxiety, and even be a base cause of phobias. It seems that if the blood sugar goes very low, and the body response is too slow, the person either may pass out or “nearly pass out”. If the person happens to be driving over a bridge, this might cause a driving phobia connected with bridges. I’ve seen several such cases.

Glucose is the form of sugar in the blood. This has been transformed in the digestive process from other sugars and starches into glucose then passed into the bloodstream.

Hypoglycemia is usually caused by too much insulin driving too much glucose into the body cells, which depletes the supply of glucose available to the brain (and other areas).

Since glucose is as necessary to proper brain function as is oxygen, there are many different symptoms possible. These can range from a simple yawn about a half hour to an hour after eating, to a full-blown anxiety attack, or even a real depression (the term “sugar blues” has a basis in real fact), or even death for diabetics, or almost anything in between. Sometimes, allergies can cause similar symptoms, or even cause an hypoglycemic episode!

Too much insulin can be the result of a sugar overload, and this may cause hypoglycemia in “normal persons”. To some “sensitive persons”, this can be as simple as eating a doughnut or drinking a full glass of orange juice on an empty stomach. (Happened to me!) The response to low sugar/glucose is individual, and everyone reacts slightly differently. Also, one person can eat a dozen doughnuts one time with no bad effects, and have a hypoglycemic episode from just one doughnut at another time.

A simple example will help clear up some of the confusion around this subject. If a normal (whatever that is) person eats an apple, he/she will gain approximately the equivalent of 3 teaspoons of sugar. That apple is digested over some 30 hours in the following way

1. As sugar is absorbed in the mouth, in the stomach, and the small intestine, the amounts are measured and the brain determines how much insulin to release into the blood.Let’s call this process a “sugarstat” for illustration. While we don’t fully understand how it works, we do know the effects.

2. From millions of years of evolution, the sugarstat “knows” that with the amount of sugar absorbed over a certain time it needs an equivalent amount of insulin, and releases that amount accordingly.

3. Now, it takes 3-4 hours for all the sugar to be digested from the apple fiber as it passes thru the digestive system. It’s a downward curve, and the insulin released also has a similar downward curve, and it lasts about the same 3 hours in the blood, as it’s used.

So, eating an apple has an immediate effect of raising glucose (blood sugar) somewhat, and this “blip” is fast compensated for by insulin release, and from that point the incoming sugar is pretty well balanced by insulin release over the three or so hours of digestion. The sugarstat is working as designed – there is ittle change in blood sugar as nature intended.

If we “pre-digest” the same apple by squeezing it in a cider press, the situation is much different. In effect, all we have removed is the fiber, and retained all the sugar, vitamins/minerals, etc.One glass of apple juice could contain the juice of 10 or more apples – 30 teaspoons of sugar. Now, there is much more sugar absorbed very fast, and the sugarstat is “fooled” into releasing many times the amount of insulin actually needed as a result.

(Remember that for millions of years of evolution, we didn’t have cider presses, let alone the “designer” apples of today.)

This “overdose” of insulin drives blood sugar into body cells at a furious rate, and even though the blip is now much larger, it quickly lowers it.

Enough insulin has been released for 3 hours of digestion, but the sugar is digested in 15 minutes and into the bloodstream quickly. The result – too much insulin – enough released for 3 hours of this huge intake. The sugarstat has been “fooled”, by not evolving far enough to handle our “modern” food processing.

The job of insulin is to shepard all the glucose found in the blood into the body cells. The result – a severe shortage of glucose in the brain.

The brain MUST have glucose as well as oxygen for fuel, so several body mechanisms go into action to raise the glucose. Not too many people realize that without BOTH glucose AND oxygen, brain cells start to die in about 5 minutes.

Body hyperinsulinism defenses are adrenalin release, and the release of stored glucose for emergencies (the flight/fight response), and the release of some fats and sex hormones that can be converted to glucose.

From the above scenario, it can be seen that hypoglycemia isn’t really an actual disease, but in fact, it is actually normal to we humans, even though the effects are individual and vary greatly. It’s our modern sugary diet full of processed or pre-digested food that’s really to blame.

These body defenses against low blood sugar also cause some very different symptoms in different individuals. This occurs about 3-4 hours after eating a high carb fast digested meal.

One symptom that is not uncommon in women is an panaic/anxiety attack, or even fainting.Men may experience these symptoms, but less often.

An anxiety attack caused by a hypoglycemia episode while driving might result in a phobia of driving, or if driving in a tunnel, a phobia about that, or if on a bridge, a phobia about that. In practice, I’ve seen all three of these phobias generated by hypoglycemic episodes!

Men have another common symptom.A combination of adrenalin and testosterone can trigger “undifferentiated” anger in some men. He will have a “rational” reason for the anger, but bystanders can’t understand how he got so angry for “no real reason”. Men who change personality dramatically while drinking are of this type. This type is clearly shown as “pseudoschizophrenic” on the MMPI (Personality Test).

By simply advising the husband to eat a handful of peanuts and raisins every two hours after lunch, I helped to save a marriage. (He was her boss, and at 3PM, she couldn’t do anything right according to him – his lunch included a candy bar and a soda!!)

Anyone who has a sugar handling problem might be well advised to carry a bag of peanuts and raisins around, and make sure that they eat a handfull every two hours or so. (ratio of about 5 peanuts to 1 raisin).Fast glucose is provided by the raisins in a fairly short time, while the peanuts take much longer. This was what I usually advised hypoglycemic sensitive persons to do, and it works well. Really sensitive persons should know to eat 6-8 small meals every day. A meal might be a hard-boiled egg, or half an apple, etc.

On the usual Glucose Tolerance Test (for diabetes or hypoglycemia), the subject is given a measured dose of glucose in a sickenly sweet soda type of drink, and measurements are made before this drink, 1/2 hour after drinking, at one hour, and then every hour until either 5 or 6 hours have passed.

This test is more often done wrong than perhaps any other medical test used. These are the common mistakes made by medical practicioners and hospitals:

1. They just give the standard 10 oz bottle to anyone, and it’s way too much for a child or a small person. There is a weight/volume slide rule that should be used, but usually isn’t. At 6′ tall and 200 pounds, I should take only 7 ounces!

2.These measurements are often too mechanical. The patient should be advised strongly to let the person (usually a nurse) giving the glucose test know if they experience any symptoms at all from yawning to headaches, etc.

3.Around 3-4 hours into a GTT is the most likely time for most people to show hypoglycemia symptoms, even passing out at times. If no symptoms are noticed, it is a good idea to test at the 3 1/2 hour mark.

4.Don’t let the patient leave immediately after concluding the test. Have them eat some fast digesting food. I often used a small glass of freshly squeezed orange juice, in season, and out of season the handful of peanuts and raisins. Some persons have even left the test area and passed out.

The above applies primarily to GTT’s where diabetes is not a factor. A fasting glucose test will find diabetes instead, and is much safer.

In Orlando, where I checked on all the hospitals, and several MD’s offices, I found none that did all the above correctly, and most made all the above mistakes. Be advised.

I hope this helps you in your quest for better health.

The following fact is a surprise to most people, including most MD’s

Most mental disease is caused by unsuspected brain allergies!

This fact was illuminated for me by Dr Marshall Mandell in the early 80’s. He appeared on the Phil Donahue show, with videos of persons with mental problems caused or worsened by allergen testing. He was the first to name such as “brain allergies”. Since there are no "physical" symptoms such as hay fever, hives, etc, few people are even aware of them as a problem. I have never tested anyone without finding some allergies!

I worked as an assistant to Von Hilsheimer in an allergy clinic. We introduced End-Point-Titration into Florida. We amazed several MD allergists in that clinic with depression and many other mental problem cases being solved.

During that time, I studied allergy/sensitivity extensively.I was surprised upon finding a list of "mental" diseases in a text on allergies. None of my previous experience and learning in psychology had prepared me for such. I found the following in a “standard” text on allergies as “Mental Symptoms”. It will probably surprise you.

Schizophrenia, depression, hyperactivity (ADD/ADHD), Emotional instability or hypersensitivity, Insomnia, Chronic fatigue, crying jags, stuttering, excessive daydreaming, anxiety, panic attacks, withdrawn, listless, seizures, aggressive behavior, anger, irritability, silly, tense, restless, excited, agitated, behavior problems in children, difficulty concentrating, memory loss, poor comprehension, confusion, impaired attention, obsessive thoughts, compulsive behavior, feelings of unreality, disorientation, false beliefs or delusions, hallucinations, suicidal, feel like hurting self.

While giving a 4 day orthomolecular seminar in Soviet Georgia in 2000, I was introduced to the latest EEG biofeedback therapy of raising the amplitude of the brain waves just above Alpha, in the range of 12-15 Hz. (later named the SMR brain wave) In the discussion that followed, I remembered that list of mental diseases caused by allergens. I then proposed the following theory: “Raising the SMR brain wave somehow gradually changes the affect of allergens on the brain. At present, there is no other theory to fit the data.

I started the first company to lease EEG BF equipment for home use in the US in December 2000 upon return to the US.. As you can imagine this did not endear me to the clinicians who were charging up to $250 per half hour for the service. The actual operation is so simple that anyone with a high school education can easily learn how to do it, although the learned clinicians will (as usual) protest the necessity of a professional approach. (This in spite of no record of harm being done to anyone, and no license being required to practice this simple therapy.)

In 2001, Dr Jiri Tyrl of the Czech Biofeedback Society listed papers about EEG biofeedback that showed the following mental diseases as being either cured or greatly improved by this feedback:

Epilepsy; ADD/ADHD, Learning Disabilities, Academic-Cognitive Enhancement; Anxiety Disorders, PTSD, Sleep Disorders, Depression, Hemispheric Asymmetry, Anger, Addictive Disorders, Brain Injury, Stroke, Coma, Spasticity, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Fibromyalgia, Autoimmune Dysfunctions, Headache and other Pain, Schizophrenia, Obsessive Compulsive Disorders, Parkinson’s Dystonia, Tourette’s Syndrome, Autism; Cognitive Decline with Aging, Asthma Hypertension Dissociative Disorders, Creativity, Optimal Functioning, Criminal Recidivism.

While these lists (copied verbatim fro the two different sources) are somewhat, it’s apparent that both cover virtually all mental problems. To me, that was further proof that my original theory (above) is correct.

In 2004, one of those comic light bulbs went on above my head, and I realized that it should be possible to do the same thing – namely raise the SMR brain wave – by use of subliminal messaging.

I put out a call for volunteers, and got over 20, who sent me weekly emails for 4 weeks. Most were various types of ADD or ADHD, with a few depressives and insomniacs mixed in.Both my allergen and my subliminal usage theories were anecdotally proved as correct. An interesting fact – 3 former "failed" users of EEG Biofeedback were included in that test, and they also failed with this one.

In 6 more volunteer tests since that time, we have shown that this therapy (named Neuroliminal Training) is at least as effective as EEG Biofeedback (aka Neurofeedback) for ADD or ADHD, depression, insomnia, autism, and epilepsy.

We’re going even further with a current test that includes Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Fibromyalgia, PTSD, Depression of all types, etc. This test will end in early 2009.

Dr Bate is a retired orthomolecular psychologist who invented Neuroliminal Training, a simpler and
affordable way to change brain wave amplitudes solving
ADD-Autism, depression, insomnia, and more.
http://drbate.com – http://Neuroliminal.com

Anxiety or panic attacks are sudden periods of intense anxiety, fear and discomfort. While these attacks might seem to happen for no reason, they’re actually the body’s response to what it perceives to determine the need for fight or flight.

The attacks usually last about ten minutes, but can be as short as one minute. However, there are some severe cases where they occur in cycles. Anxiety attacks cycles can last for various extended amounts of time. These cycles can cause ’anticipation’ anxiety between episodes.

The common physical indications of anxiety or panic attacks are: shortness of breath, experiencing heart palpitations, breaking out in a sweat and having some type of agitated feeling. Tingling and numbness in the extremities, dizziness, lightheadedness, headaches and nausea are also commonly experienced. These may appear to be random, but they’re actually the result of the body’s preparations for protection.

The anxiety attack is brought on by a sudden onset of fear. When this happens, the body will work to regulate it’s temperature by increasing the heart rate through increased adrenaline and this is what causes the increase in breathing rate. These actions prepare the body for the physical activities of fighting or escaping. Because the anticipated strenuous activity rarely follows the panic attack, these reactions result in physical discomfort.

The heart palpitations are brought on by the increased heart rate. When that happens, a person can hyperventilate due to rapid breathing, causing a decrease in the amount of carbon dioxide levels in the bodies blood and lungs. Once the carbon dioxide levels go down in the blood; numbness, tingling, dizziness and lightheadedness will occur. The rapid heart rate, raises the adrenaline and that effects the blood vessels by causing them to narrow, which in turn effects the amount of blood that is able to get up to the brain. After understanding the causes and symptoms of anxiety attacks, you should learn to breathe properly if an attack occurs, which will help you to take steps in controlling them; you owe it to yourself to learn ways to do this and get to the root of the problem!

A panic attack can affect some people in ways that are very emotionally disturbing. It’s symptoms often involve periods of irrational fear and intense distress. In addition, the symptoms also include being short of breath as well as experiencing trembling which is at its worst when the attack first begins. A typical panic attack can last for approximately half an hour and varies from person to person.

It’s true that the degree of emotional disturbance will vary, and the more intense panic attacks can have longer lasting effects. The attack is generally very irrational though a factor that does seem to contribute to the onset of panic attack is low blood sugar. Certain studies on panic and anxirty attacks have demonstrated a clear connection between this condition and low blood sugar levels.

Not really knowing what causes a panic attack is not very reassuring to the sufferer; nevertheless, it is possible to take certain measures with which to manage a panic attack. For one, using different kinds of relaxation methods can help; medication and antidepressants are also helpful and widely used. The sad part is that no one single remedy has been proven to be most effective in all cases. The chance of you suffering a panic attack can certainly be lowered by reducing your stress levels.

Also, if the problem is not treated or ignored the panic attacks may well last for years to come. Fortunately, panic attacks can almost always be successfully treated, although results will vary from person to person.

Some people will at first respond well to treatment methods only to experience fresh bouts of panic attack when they become older; still others may be able to overcome their problem with a single treatment.

Sufferers of panic attacks may rest assured that there is hope – treatment will almost certainly help overcome the problem. Even if you happen to be suffering from anxiety panic attack you need not be too concerned even though the condition comes in different forms and under varying situations. By consulting a professional healthcare giver, you will get sound advice regarding the best treatment options as well as learn about steps that will help minimize the risk of future panic attacks.

The Joe Barry Panic Away Review

Some 10 years ago, Joe Barry a former anxiety attack sufferer authored a totally natural technique called Panic Away that he claims can eliminate 100% of anxiety and panic attacks almost immediately.

Pretty bold claim… let’s find out if his program measures up.

Currently the Panic Away system is one of the most widely accepted panic attack treatment around, boasting more than 27,000 users to date.

The Joe Barry Panic Away technique is called; “The One Move” which he claims will eliminate the cycle of anxiety disorders and bring your general anxiety level to zero without using any medication or typical relaxation methods.

Joe Barry presents his material in an easy to read style. He does not use complicated psycho babble words often and explains himself when he does. He likes to uses stories to better illustrate his point and carries the reader down a logical path as he explains the One Move technique.

Joe Barry does a great job of explaining the symptoms of panic attacks as well as the numerous myths and misconceptions of anxiety and panic attacks.

The One Move technique is presented quite early in the book and is extensively explained and reinforced thereafter.

The Panic Away eBook provides many phobia specific applications of the One Move such as driving with panic attacks, panic attacks stemming from the fear of leaving your house and anxiety due to fear of flying and the fear of speaking in public.

The Panic Away One Move is also said to be an excellent remedy for General Anxiety Disorder (GAD).

As mentioned on the Panic Away website the One Move technique is simple enough to use in any “real life” situation and is NOT a complicated check-list or technical program.

Panic Away is an electronic book or EBook that can be downloaded onto your computer right away allowing you to start the program at any time. Panic Away is backed by an 8 week full 100% money back guarantee and their website is loaded with actual customer reviews

Mark Pasay, the developer of Ease Out of Fear, determined to find relief searched the world over during the time he personally suffered from panic and anxiety attacks, ended his 20 year search with his “7 Steps to Overcome Fear and Anxiety”. The identical solutions he learned that cured his own anxiety symptoms are fully revealed with a fresh and unique approach in an easy to understand format.
