I really like all the Neutrogena products… they’re typically reasonably priced… and my dermatologist recommended them because they don’t have harsh chemicals that will make your skin more irritated. (I especially like their new RapidClear line).

have you ever just tried clearasil? people are always like “o thats cheaper then everything else…therefore it must not work”
i use the regular face wash, then use the acne pads after that and i’ve never broken out in my life. it really does work. you dont need some fancy acne stuff lol. try it =]

I use Clean & Clear face wash in the shower, and mine has gotten a lot better. Also avoid touching your face as much as possible because the oils in your hands clog your pores. Good Luck!

i know how you feel. =[ lol anyways i got a perscription from my doctor and my face has cleared up completely. I’m not kidding. Ask your doctor and then just use it regularly, trust me it will work.

Those clearasil pads are awesome. They dry your skin something fierce though

Well Proactive works well. So does acnefree. Nutragena works too. it all depends on what you like the best. I presonally like proactive. But thats just me.

I have never heard so many useless answers (sorry, but true). There is a $6.99 product out there that uses the same ingredients as proactiv known as Benzoyl Peroxide Cream.
There are two kinds and three different strengths.
Vanishing cream (mostly for guys…it vanishes)
Cover-Up (looks like foundation and you can put make-up over top)
Then the strengths are 2.5% (which most people use) and 5 % (which burns the crap out of your face)
BP cream works by killing the bacteria.
You really should head to
It has the most useful FREE information out there. By the way, the BP I use is called OXY…black box…looks like it is a cologne box…6.99$ lasts almost a month and brought me from 10+ zits every few days to the odd one.
Anyways like I said before, go to the site and RESEARCH. Most things that will help your face are only 10$ away and may even be in your cupboard.
EDIT: Don’t fall for all those name brand cleaners or pore clogging removers. They are nothing but junk and have ingrediants that increase your oil gland production. So sad that people get suckered into buying all of that crud when the simplest things work.
2nd EDIT: Do not use that bar of soap from the first poster. When you first start using BP cream, your face will become red and irritated (normal). 2.5% strength will burn for a few weeks, 5% may go for a month sometimes never stop, 10% (which is what that bar of soap contains) is wayyyyyyyyyyy too strong.
3rd EDIT: Do not use salicylic acid products. Galaxy fan, I know you think you are helping and you sound 10x smarter than most acne posters, but salicylic acid will cause you to break out. I guarentee it. You need to read up on the studies of 10% BP Cream/ Salicylic acid (sp?). Yes, it may have worked for you, but you are not in the majority.

proactiv is really expensive and overrated. i have tried it.
just don’t wash ur face too often as u will produce more oils.
buy a cheap generic brand of clearasil 10 percent benzoyl peroxide. it’s very effective. be careful of its color bleaching powers though.
u may also want to try 2.5 percent salicylic acid. i have used oxy. it is an expensive brand of benzoyl peroxide plus it s a bottle so u can’t squeeze out the remaining stuff out easily.
benzoyl peroxide may irritate so start slow in the beginning.
i am sorry, 2.5 percent benzoul peroxide does not do the trick.
i am using a tube in 4 days of 10 percent. it is just effective.

Accutane!!! Schedule an appointment with a dermatologist ASAP. I had HORRIBLE acne before taking Accutane and now my skin is perfect! It gets a bad wrap but the only problems I had with it is that while I was taking it, my skin was extra dry. A VERY VERY small price to pay for perfect skin!!

hmm there are a few new things like, Tri Clear, Murad ,Clean Clear advantage box, Papaya Cleansers. You can try 1 of those they all work.
You cant buy all those at grocery store tho.
Just go to any store like walmart. Then Simply look for a product that has 4 things in its package.
1. Cleanser
2. Toner
3. Lotion
4. spot treatment.
It will clear you up. and make sure it has Saltic Acid and not Benzoyl Peroxside
