So What is the Best Natural Acne Treatment?
Natural Acne Treatments September 1st, 2009As everyone is well aware of, traditional acne treatments are very effective in treating existing acne, and in some cases, they are also highly effective in eliminating acne. But, not everyone wants to expose themselves to the toxic mix of chemicals that are most ‘traditional’ acne products. This article explains what treatment options exist, if like many acne sufferers, you would prefer to avoid as many chemicals as possible.
Natural acne treatments are becoming more and more popular with the passing of each year, and for good reason; there is strong demand. But why is there a demand for alternative acne treatments? Because people have grown wary of the mainline acne treatments that list more chemicals as ingredients than you can find under your kitchen sink. This is where natural acne treatments come in.
One of the more popular acne treatments is tea tree oil followed by zinc and Vitamin A, so these are the treatments that this article will focus on.
Tea tree oil is derived from a tree that is native to Australia. The use of this tea goes back hundreds of years to the Aborigines who used it as a powerful antibiotic. The same is true of the properties of this tree today; it is still, like so many years before, a very powerful anti-infection agent. So, this is why people have begun to use it as a topical treatment for acne. One thing to keep in mind while using tea tree oil is that it should not be applied to skin without first being diluted because it can cause burning, or rash. Instead, it should be mixed with water in the portions of 5 parts tea tree oil to 95 parts water. This combination will produce a 5% tea tree oil mixture, which is generally regarded as safe for direct use on the skin.
Because Zinc and Vitamin A are typically sold as part of multivitamins, you should not need to purchase, and take these two supplements separately, just get yourself a good multivitamin. The reason that Zinc is important is because it boosts your immune system, which in turn reduces outbreaks. Vitamin A is important because it helps your body to maintain overall healthy skin.
If you are looking for a natural acne treatment, than these three supplements should at least get you started. Do keep in mind that some people are allergic to tea tree oil, and Zinc and Vitamin A can build up in your body if you take too much, because of this you should consult your doctor before starting any on these treatments.
